read more »nick cave and the bad seeds - no more shall we part this one was a recommendation from an old friend over drinks. sad, gritty, jazzy--i love this.
ok, on to xmas tunes. i have 40 some-odd cds of xmas music of all kinds but these are the latest additions:
brian setzer's "dig that crazy christmas" - typical setzer. upbeat, jazzy fun. even sparky likes this one.
diana krall's "christmas songs" - smooth, elegant, jazzy. love her voice. nothing new here but sometimes a well done classic is new enough.
40th Year Anniversary Charlie Brown Christmas - worth it just to have the peanuts xmas music but with david benoit and dave koz on the album it is a perfect jazzy addition to the xmas collection.
hmmm... notice a trend? "jazzy." that's always going to be my first choice for xmas tunes. can be classic jazz, something more progressive, big band or dixie/new orleans style jazz--something with a little swing and syncopation is going to be a favorite. i love almost all xmas music from classical to pop but i will always come back to the jazz--just feels like xmas.
any new cds lately?
