I believe in the church of baseball. I've tried all the major religions and most of the minor ones.I've worshipped Buddha, Allah, Brahma, Vishnu, Siva, trees, mushrooms and Isadora Duncan. I know things. For instance, there are 108 beads in a Catholic's rosary and there are 108 stitches in a baseball. When I learned that, I gave Jesus a chance. But it just didn't work out between us. The Lord laid too much guilt on me. I prefer metaphysics to theology. You see, there's no guilt in baseball. And it's never boring, which makes it like sex...It's a long season and you gotta trust it. ancient secret code
i am not sure why it has taken me this long to crack the ancient and secret code of the children...
it's easy. apparently "mom needs some quiet to get some rest" = jump around like a bunch of rabid monkeys on hallucinogenic drugs while screeching and chattering and squealing so the neighbors think we now have a barnyard full of large, mentally ill farm animals on crack who are all quite talented at the musical versions of "he's touching me," "he's on my side," "he's looking at me" and the ever-so-popular "mom, make him give that back it's miiiiiiiiiiine," even if it is slightly off key.
how could i not have seen it before?
