House of Dance by Beth Kephart

House of Dance by Beth Kephart is the story of Rosie Keith, a 15-year-old girl whose summer vacation is far from idyllic. Her parents are divorced, her mother is busy, and her best friend is away. Rosie spends her days with her dying grandfather. As she learns more about his life, Rosie decides to take dance lessons in order to give her grandfather a special surprise while he can still enjoy it.

These are the bareback facts about this book. Although it's recommended for ages 12 and up, I think that sophisticated younger readers would also be able to enjoy it. It's a sweet story about a girl in a difficult situation who learns a great deal about various aspects of life and how to live it optimally.
