Confessions of a Serial Kisser by Wendelin Van Draanen
Confessions of a Serial Kisser is a YA book by Wendelin Van Draanen. The protagonist is Evangeline, a 16-year-old girl who is living with her mother after her parents' separation. In an attempt to get out of her funk and change her life, Evangeline sets out in search of a "Crimson Kiss;" the perfect kiss as described by one of her mother's romance novels. But seeking the perfect kiss in high school comes with unanticipated complications.
This was a pleasant enough read, although I found that it lost steam after a while. The resolution was a decent one, and it didn't pander to the reader, but it wasn't as well-paced or interesting as the initial setup. Still, it's an appropriate read for young women, and it provides interesting food for thought.
