The Audacity of Hope by Barak Obama
I don't generally get into political books, but I was interested in reading The Audacity of Hope by Barak Obama. Political platform books are what they are, but I found this one engaging. Obama "gets" the concept that most Americans have more in common than we tend to think, and he has an understanding of empathy for people from very different walks of life. He has the potential of being a true uniter, because he doesn't automatically view any side as the enemy. While people may have different ideologies, Americans tend to have common values. Considering the divisiveness of politics in recent years, it's reassuring to read a political book that doesn't automatically assume that we all have to be enemies if we don't see eye-to-eye on every issue.
I don't want to start a whole political discussion about the elections, but I did find this to be an interesting book (confessing that I skimmed it more than actually read it).
