Deep Dish by Mary Kay Andrews

I'll start off by admitting off the bat that this isn't my kind of book. I don't mind chick flick books, if you will, so long as they have depth to them. This book is not deep. The characters are fairly one-dimensional, not unlike Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum heroine.

In Mary Kay Andrews' Deep Dish, the heroine is Gina Foxton, a plucky almost-30-year-old southern girl with a cooking show on a local cable show. Gina and Tate Moody, a hunky redneck with his own cooking show, are in competition - the winner gets his/her own show on the Cooking Channel. It doesn't take a genius to foresee that hilarity and romance will ensue.
Deep Dish is a breezy, light read. Something to read on vacation if you don't want anything heavy. But if you prefer more meaningful literature, this will leave you unsatisfied.
