i returned the defective dvd recorder, and yes, it was defective, it wasn't just me. the new one is almost installed.

but i can't get sound to come out of the flippin' tv. i can watch spongebob in surround sound but if i want to restrict his noisiness to the little tv speakers? no dice.

still fighting the good fight. i will beat this thing yet.

on edit: HAHAHAHA!!!!! take that!! i just figured out blue's clues the damn dvd recorder!!! (the kids still had nickelodeon on so i was doing the happy dance to the blue's clues song. felt appropriate. i am going to go back and do another round!) i just figured out blue's clues......
