ugh, monday. oh wait! bwahhahaha! i am on break. *pauses for a moment to do happy joyous spring break jig*


i do have a list of things to get accomplished over break including that pesky project for the research grant. but i set aside today for some relaxing.


c started little league this week. (side note: there are so many many reasons why i could never coach little league most of which having to do with the difficulty of removing my incredibly cute green sneakers from little annoying 8yr olds' butts)
he is doing well, tentative, but well.
but he came up to me with huge eyes and whispered (in his loudest stage whisper): coach dennis is a yankee fan!


oh no! it might as well have been "coach dennis has three arms" or "coach dennis has no skin." the poor kid was stunned.


turns out that the coach is a nice guy (despite the yankee fandom) and is even having a one on one session with c this afternoon. he just posts times when he is available and meets with anyone who wants to. this usually means kids get personal attention. that will be great for c who has all the skills but none of the confidence.
and great for mom who is still twitching from the first full team practice. 11 8-9 yr old boys inside practice. and apparently you have to be careful making snarky comments when you don't know which parents go to which kids. who woulda thought?


off to enjoy spring break. shhhh. listen. know what that sound is?
silence. beautiful, kid-free, silence.
