so i have been wandering around online (because classes have started and now i am back to perfecting my craft as a premiere procrastinator), and i came across something interesting. ok, interesting to me.
academics. real live blogging academics. professors, grad students, etc. while this probably isn't surprising to anyone else, it is a bit amusing to me. you see, here i was living under the delusion that it was just me. the professors i know on campus look down on blogs as if they were literature with a little "l," as if i were caught red-handed with pop-fiction. *gasp* maybe it's just the english dept? they can be that way at times. and sometimes it is what i love about them. and sometimes it is what makes me wonder if i will ever join the ranks.
so imagine the fun i am having reading blogs of professors and academics. i have found a few wonderful and witty sites. i have pilfered many of their blogrolls. and i now have a new blogroll to keep track of the ongoing fun in academia.
and a little nod to cheeky prof who you should be reading and where i pilfered many of the links from. go on over and have a read. you'll thank me.
this whole thing reminds of the time when you were 7 yrs old and you saw your teacher at the grocery store. they have lives??? real lives?? what are they doing away from school?? shocking and stunning. lol. ok, maybe not exactly the same, but i am feeling a whole lot less like an outsider in my chosen profession.
