there is a new secretary in the english dept. on campus. i haven't seen much of her yet. it isn't the same as it used to be when i had time to hang around the office. this semester is too hectic for that.

so this morning, as i race in to do errands for ssp, who missed his train leaving me to handle everything...

i stick my head in the office and say "did ssp call and tell you it would be alright to let me in his office?"

she nods...then a big, kind of odd smile, "so you're the famous michelle d."

umm.

"famous?"

"well, i see your name everywhere and always think i wish i had as exciting a life as she does."

ummm. ok.

not sure what to make of that one.

back off to campus. of course, i was gone for an hour and a half today and that's when friggin ups showed up. they won't leave it without a signature so i am hoping that tomorrow is laptop day.
