No Witnesses - Ridley Pearson

I first learned of Ridley Pearson because he and humorist Dave Barry co-wrote a wonderful trilogy of prequels to Peter Pan (Peter and the Star Catchers; Peter and the Shadow Thieves; and Peter and the Secret of Rundoon), all of which I recommend. Thus, when I was recently looking to pick up a book, I decided to try No Witnesses.

I enjoyed this book. It's a crime mystery about an extortion plot and murder through tainted food. The characters are layered, with interesting histories and back stories that give this book much more depth than the average dime store mystery.

Note that this book was written in 1993, so the technology is a bit behind the times. Nonetheless, that does not detract from this gripping tale. It's a good read, and I recommend it.
