Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood - Rebecca Wells

A quick review from the stacks.

I realize that I am way behind the times with this book and most people read it long ago but I finally got to it because of the challenge. I also had never seen the movie, I watched it with Michelle when I finished the book

When I began reading it I was not sure what everyone had made such a big fuss over. I did not think the story was strong and the writing seemed choppy. The further I read however the more I began to see. Wells built up the characters slowly keeping you guessing as to the motives behind the events that were unfolding. Also the events were not as they first appeared.

By the end of the story I could not stop turning pages (or turning over cassettes). I was moved and touched by the emotional whirlwind that Wells had created.

I fully recommend this to anyone, who like me, missed this wonderful book when it came out.
