A new voice

In case you were tired of hearing my rants and ravings and wanted another perspective, I am opening this blog up to my favorite person in the world to watch and argue TV with. So, maybe, just maybe, in the near future you will be reading snark from a different voice.

Hey, I can hope, right?

In the meantime, if you can't wait to see who it is, go on over to Toolz of Ignorance and read a bit of the baseball blog. Go on.

Fall might make it better

Wow! Poor little underused blog just sitting here empty!

Summer on HBO has been more than fun. Looking forward to the True Blood finale more than an actual adult should. But there will be Eric and how can anyone resist that??

The Summer has flown by leaving me little time to think about the upcoming Fall TV goodness. But my favorites are, for the most part, coming back. And Dollhouse! Cannot begin to explain how giddy I am about the return of Dollhouse.

Looking forward to Glee as well and am holding off on others since it appears anything I love will be reshuffled, rescheduled and eventually canceled after one season.

So here's hoping that something this Fall inspires a little writing over here.

Long lost tv blog

Wow. It's been a while since I've posted here. But...fear not...that doesn't mean that I am not watching much more than the recommended allotment of TV. Oh no, quite the contrary. In fact, I am happily consuming at least twice the daily average. I just do it at night while the TiVo helps me with the insomnia. It's a good deal, really.

So what are we watching?

There's the old favorites:
House
Bones
Heroes
Boston Legal
Daily Show
Colbert Report
Gray's Anatomy

Some newer favorites:
Pushing Daisies
Dirty Sexy Money
Private Practice

And this season's new list:
True Blood
Fringe
90210 (shut it! I like this show!)

Add to that a smattering of contests like Dancing with the Stars and it's all good.

And maybe, just maybe I'll start writing up something witty and snarky about the more fun episodes. But really, what is everyone else watching?

And more importantly, is everyone as excited as I am about the new Twilight movie? And have you seen the trailer?

Twilight

New Amsterdam

I gave it a shot. It is on after Idol so it's inevitable that I'll wind up seeing all the promos.

It's ok. It's a definite maybe. But...they get another shot for impressive soundtracks. The Decemberists? Great song choice. The people on Idol should be so smart.

Empty TiVo makes me very, very sad

Please, please end the writers' strike. I keep checking into the TiVo to find that nothing, nothing, is being recorded. And while Idol is looming in the coming weeks and Lost is returning, I am starting to go through withdrawal.

I agree with the writers. I support the writers. But I am weak and am seriously missing my escapism television. Settle this thing. Pay them what they deserve.

At least the Daily Show is officially coming back. Baby steps, right?

It's the most wonderful time of the year

Not only is it back to school time with all the office supplies anyone could dream of and the kids back in classes, not only is it the post-season and the Mets are heading that way *fingers crossed*, not only is the weather about to turn cool and crisp....

but it's time for season premieres!

I need to get organized, get the Tivo set and decide what favorites we'll be returning to and which ones we are going to give a chance.

What's everyone else looking forward to this season?

Little trivia for you

After coming home from a second trip to see Hairspray I was wandering about IMDB and I found something interesting. Ok, something interesting to those with similar geeky obsessions as me (including wandering about IMDB).

Zac Efron was on an episode of Firefly.

Yup, Joss Whedon found him long before he was singin' and dancin'.

Oh, and if I was 13? I would definitely be papering the walls with his poster. And Elijah Kelley. Can't wait for Hairspray to be released on DVD. I'll be there...first in line.

reruns

I am trying to get work done today but have been suckered into reruns of Will and Grace. It's funny how you forget how much you love shows and then they sneak up on you.

I watch Buffy reruns every morning. It's a routine. Ok, not an exercise routine or anything useful. But it's healthier than coffee.

Do you succumb to reruns?

Rainy days are for chick flicks...even if you're a guy

I came home from running errands this afternoon (errands that included tow new chairs for watching Tivo from!) to find my 13 yr old son parked in front of the TV. This isn't that amazing considering that he's 13 and he's my kid.

But...he called me in. "Hey mom! There's a really great movie on. Come and watch with me." How can I resist that on a rainy day (or any other day).

But when you get home and find that your 13 yr old son is watching Shakespeare in Love and declares it really good except for all the sex parts, you have to be a little amazed.

Must be the weather.

Me? I was craving a little Mr. Darcy in P&P. But I figured I wouldn't push it for now.

Oh TV, how I miss you

I have no cable at the "old" house! I know, I know. It's a tragedy. But I am trying to look at it from a "TiVo half full" kind of perspective. At least the cable will be all set at the new house by the time all my favorite shows come back in January.

I miss my TV. I miss my list of shows just waiting for me to watch. And what little TV I do get to see? Sparky insists on Home and Garden, you know, for ideas. Hrumph.

Soon, this move will be over soon.....

Just getting started

So I figure maybe people are tired of reading about my addiction and maybe, just maybe, it appears to the uneducated as if I watch too much TV. As if there could be such a thing!!

So bear with me as I fix the kinds and quirks and get this running. I will have to work on it as the Fall shows get started so this may take a while.

Stop in and chat. Let me know I'm not the only one watching!!

Now off to watch the first results show of the season for Dancing With the Stars.
