As soon as I like a show

Looks like Black Donnellys is cancelled. They are going to air two more shows before taking it off the air on April 16.

I guess I should catch up on the two on my TiVo before we say goodbye. It was a good show. Really. Why do they always take away the ones I like?

Irish guys. Cute Irish guys. And a bar. And sex. And violence. And an actor from my town.

Maybe they will reconsider.

With a name like mine I didn't have a choice

I'm Irish. I like TV. How could I not watch this show? Especially since it is by the creators of Crash.

The first episode was interesting. A few twists and turns at the end and I think we are going to be in for a fun, but bumpy ride. It took a while to straighten out all the characters and stop mixing up Joey, Tommy, Sean and Kevin. But once that was all sorted out, once we figured out who was who, who ran over who, who shot who, all was well.

There is something gritty about this group of guys. It's the Sopranos but not as slick. I am wondering how long the narrator setup will last. How long can Joey Ice cream keep telling stories and not just be thrown back into his cell? How many times can they replay a scene and just stick him in before that little trope gets old?

Last but not least, one of the actors grew up right down the road from here so there's just a little more incentive to watch, a little cheering for the local guy.

Yup, one more season pass to keep up with.
