Best "new" shows this season
Yes, I know the season is well underway and the writers' strike wreaking havoc on programming, but let's just take a second, this far in, to remark on our new favorites:
Reaper - Watch it. Love it. Best new show of the season. It gets better every week. I know a lot of people are missing this because it is hiding over on the CW, but trust me, you should be watching.
Dirty, Sexy, Money--Yay! A grown up show that's fun and smart and keeps you guessing. Plus, bonus, it's a dysfunctional family that makes your family look like the damn Waltons in comparison. Great, dirty, sexy, fun.
Pushing Daisies-- Love, love, love this. Love Chi McBride whose facial expressions alone are worth watching the show for. Adore Kristin Chenowith. Perfect, she's just perfect. It's quirky and fun and completely different. Which, of course, means it will be soon cancelled and sold on DVD with "bonus episodes." Go watch while you can.
Journeyman - Yup, Time Traveler's Wife but somehow different. And he grows on you. Did you know she was going to be from the past? I never saw it coming. And that just makes it better.
Ooh....how could I almost forget....Private Practice--A spinoff that puts the original to shame. How hot was this week? Taye Diggs. 'nuf said. This is my guilty pleasure during the week.
So, which of the new shows have you stuck with and which did you kick off the DVR?

Hopelessly devoted.....
There was singing, Kristin Chenowith was singing. And I don't think there is a more endearing trope that they could have gone with for me.
After loving the first week of Pushing Daisies, I was afraid that the second week would be a let down. How many people can they wake and kill? How long can they go without touching? How cutesy is too cutesy?
But I loved this week. Knitting gun cosies? Singing waitresses? The divider in the car? How funny was it that the inventor of the Dandy Lion Car was driving a Hummer? And that it ran out of gas?
Quirky and brilliant, but I am still not sure of its longevity. I will keep watching until the show is pushing daisies.

Pushing Daisies
I am in love with this show. Such a perfect mix. A dark comedy with brilliant saturated colors. Jim Dale as the narratory adds an almost whimsical touch. There were times when it reminded me of James and the Giant Peach, but an adult version. No, not the story, but the feel of the story, the voice-overs, etc.
Chi McBride is a great partner for Lee Pace (Ned). The scene where Chi hugs Chuck for Ned is wonderfully quirky. And speaking of wonderfully quirky, one of my favorite actresses of all time is in this cast--Kristin Chenowith. Love, love, love her.
This show is all contradictions--dark and funny, whimsical and deep--it's by far the most original of the new fall shows and so much fun to watch. I can't wait until next week.
