At least the little guy voted himself off
Anyone watch kid nation last night? We were going to pass but the boys seemed interested. It's a little different than I anticipated considering it's really just Kid Survivor: Wild West. But it is interesting to see how differently kids play compared to adults.
I am pretty sure that the one 15yr old is direct from Juvie (is that how you spell that??) Also, that the introduction of the possibility of winning $20,000 each week will stir up competition and a whole lot of tension. That's a lot of money for an adult. For a kid? Can you imagine?
They didn't vote anyone out but there were challenges and at the end of the first few days anyone who wanted to leave was allowed. The littlest guy was more than ready to go. I felt bad for him.
Best quotes:
"I'm not old enough for this!"
"I don't do dishes. I'm a beauty queen." (Seriously need to smack that one a bit!)
I was wondering what the rules were as well. Could they opt to be a communist society? Could they be an "anarco-sydicalist commune?" "Taking it in turns to be a sort of executive officer for the week?" With "all the decisions of that officer have to be ratified at a special bi-weekly meeting? By a simple majority in the case of purely internal affairs but by a two thirds majority in the case of..." Well, you get it. And what it someone tries to "wield supreme executive power just because some watery tart threw a sword at them?"
Ok, I'm done now. But it was an oddly watchable show. Some of the kids need a good foot up their asses and I wonder what all the parents of these kids are thinking a)sending them there and b)watching how they behaved. I know there are days that I would love to drive my kids out into the middle of the wild west and leave them for a couple of weeks but then there's DYFS to contend with and eventually I would miss the little buggers.
We'll watch again. Just to see if the 15 yr olds steal the gold star and if they install a jail in this wild west town.
