Where does this "chip on the shoulder" come from?
How do I knock it off? This is a career training course? Who wants to employ you?
~ 14 years I have worked here and it only seems to get worse ... or maybe I am getting older.
Was a time I thought I could actually help; make them understand; have them learn useful human relations skills, teach them by example

I am probably the wrong person to be reading this post, much less posting on it. I too at one time(13 years to your 14) had those same starry eyed dreams for our students, help them change their lives, etc... After awhile you realize it is more YOUR dream for them than theirs. I still try with them, but I know I am more than a little "tarnished" in my attitude with them. As far as that "chip" on their shoulder, I have my own ideas on how to "knock it off" but I don't think I am allowed to do it MY way....sigh...
