shocked.....

I had heard rumors but I was completely stunned and from the look on Chris' face, so was he.
I'm glad Elliot is sticking around but I honestly thought that Chris was going to win the whole thing. I thought it was almost a no contest.
Wow. Just wow.
Katherine should have gone home.

buh bye pickler
I was so glad to see the Pickler go last night. It was even worth suffering through her awful goodbye video. Even the boys were doing a happy little dance of joy.
It's off to campus this afternoon where I will try and cram a week's worth of reading and research into a couple of hours. I have a serious case of end-of-semester-itis. I was hoping to get all of my writing done before I leave for Kalamazoo but it looks as if I will be bringing it with me--again.
Another beautiful day--sun is shining, Mets won in extra innings, Pickler is finally gone, C has baseball practice and I am off to study in the sunshine.

Can we do this again next week???
This was my favorite week of Idol hands down.
Please send the Pickler home, 'k?
Ace's hair will be the hot topic of discussion. I was stunned. Chris was amazing and hot and sexy. I even liked Paris this week. She was in her element. I adored Elliot but it could be because he sang our wedding song ;) Great songs. How can you not love the song book?
I hesitate to pick a bottom three this week but I think it is going to be Pickler, Elliot (unfortunately) and maybe Ace. Taylor?
Tough to call this week. Still think Pickler needs to go.

I have been hearing/talking about/eating a lot of pickles lately. I don't really like pickles.
Is it a coincidence you mention a pickler? Or has my life turned a corner into pickle-town...
Hmmmmmmmm
I've always been a fan of Chris and I really thought he was remarkable last night. I thought they all were except for Kelly and Ace. I can't stand either of them. Fake as hell if you ask me. It's all about image baby! I just wouldn't want people to think I was as numb as a fart.

Idol Chatter--Country Style
So, I confess, there are a few country tunes in the mix on the mp3. Not many, let's not get crazy, but I do have a few and I have been known to belt them out while driving in the car. I wasn't dreading country night as much as some people were. I knew it wouldn't be my favorite but I thought it might be fun.
That said--what was going on last night on Idol???
Country night was painful.
Go on over to Idol Chatter and post your guesses for the bottom three. Who is going home this week?
Unfortunately, I think we are doomed to another week of the Pickler but let me know your choices.

I grew up in a state where country music was not a rare thing. I however never liked any of it. I don't know what it is about the music, but it turns me off.
However, over the past couple years I have found musical acts that involve a fair amount of country influence within their music, though there respective genres are not country.
The first was Ween. Now ween is a strange rock band, experimental if you will. They usually belt out a country-esque song on most of their albums. It always has a aire of satire to it however, there in making it acceptable.
The second is the canadian hip-hop sensation, Buck 65. Buck has been getting more country with each album. he has no qualms about it. He uses it, and uses it well. I must respect him for that. He is also maintaining artictic integrity and doing his own thing with the country sensibilites. I quite enjoy Buck 65.
That is all I have to say about country music right now. I have nothing to say for Idol, as I have not watched it in 2 or 3 years...
I hated country music when I was younger, but nowadays I like alt-country. My beloved Wilco began as an alt-country band, Uncle Tupelo. Steve Earle is good. Alison Kraus, Gillian Welch, Lucinda Williams, Neko Case have some country going on. I've also got some Hank Williams and Townes van Zandt on the iPod.

underwhelming
That's the only word I have for last night's Idol.
Idol Chatter post is up if anyone wants to gripe about last night's poor song choices and lackluster performances. Even the hot guys were disappointing last night. I hope they all get a stern talking to and realize what they have done. I am very disappointed in them.
(Glad we watched King Kong and fast forwarded through Idol!)

Who painted the Pickler?
*****yup, more American Idol chit chat*******
As if the wife beater t wasn't bad enough, the Pickler was sporting some hideous make-up last night that appeared to have been applied with a spackling knife. orange plaster is never a good look.
Still loving Chris and his rocking Vin Deisel-ness.
Go on over to idol chatter and make your predictions for who gets the boot tonight. My money is on Lisa (but I am keeping my fingers crossed that it's either Squinty Kevin or the Pickler)

Good lord. I don't watch AI, but anyone with "Vin Diesel-ness" has my vote in a heartbeat. Yummeh. LOL
(Popping in again after umpteen months of not being around, changing blogs, domains, etc. I was here when you were reading Middlesex, and used to be Asherah from Asherah's Musings. :) )
Have a great day!
We had a boston terrier puppy in my house for a week last fall, courtesy of an impulse by my roomate.
The thing was freaky hyper. All it did was try and play with my hand by jumping up and bitting at it.
My roomate gave the dog to his parents after a week. I felt kinda bad for the dog, but after getting handed around a bit he found a good home.
