I start guitar lessons tomorrow. No more plinking and plunking and attempting to teach myself. A real live guitar-playing type guy will be here tomorrow.

I can play lots of instruments. I have a degree in music. But somehow, guitar has been something I just couldn't figure out on my own. And I feel oddly not cool enough to play guitar. As much as I love jazz, I am a very classical, by the books musician. Hopefully we can crack that mold a bit.

The other drawback to knowing how to play other instruments is that starting from scratch sucks. I want to just play. I hate the beginning stuff. I know, I know. Patience. Now I just hope that this guy has plenty of patience as well. With me he is going to need it!
