Just when we thought our plans for the day would be rained out...

We headed to the movies to pass a rainy afternoon and came out to find a perfect fall day--the kind where you just close your eyes, breathe in deep and soak it in.

We decided to just pack the car for the park and wing it. Skate park, bike trails, dog park, long walk--it was beautiful.

The pups love to go to the park but we had never braved the dog park before. I figured maybe they had as little in the way of doggie skills as I have in the way of people skills. But I was wrong. they romped, they played, they sniffed butts. And Shea? She even did some of the agility course!

They also got away at the skate park, hopped like rabbits as they chased a squirrel across the field and frightened some odd men lying on the grass doing sit-ups. My opinion? That's what you get for scary public exercising--especially if you are shirtless with a hairy back. At least the guys were not upset and the pups are far from ferocious.

Top the day off with me actually cooking (!) and it was a great day. Ok, so it was just lasagna but I did make apple cake for dessert so that counts.

Then my boys, freshly showered and no longer smelling much like skateboards and the dog park, snuggled up with me on the couch for a little movie watching.
