It's raining. Miserable, soggy, no sending them outside rain. And we had a "sleepover" here last night. I have no idea why they call it that because two nine year old boys do not sleep. There is no sleeping. And when one does? The other hits him with various things until they are both awake again.
This means no sleeping for the adults. Well, Sparky slept. But I did say the adults so I guess...
But what are we going to do this morning? My plan of tiring them out taking them to the skatepark is shot to hell. No bikes. No boards. No park. Boys. Inside. And the sound of the Pokemon game looping over and over and over.
Also, very disturbing. I dreamed that T-Bag from Prison Break broke into my house. He just pushed the deadbolt back and came in. The police wouldn't help. Sparky wouldn't get off the computer. Ewwww. T-Bag.

Great time last night at the pickup game. The boys were silly and laughing and having fun. It's not a serious "game." The boys are split into as even of teams as possible. The ages range from 7 - 11 yrs old. They bat all the way through the order every time, regardless of how many outs, so that the little guys get a chance.
When the rain came down and the field got muddy they had even more fun.
But then one mom leaned over to me and said, "Your son is always so serious about baseball. Why would you make him come back tonight if he played travel ball already this morning?"
I was going to get pissed, or knock her off the back of the bleachers, or ...well, you get the idea, but I just looked over at C. He was standing on the pitcher's mound, covered in mud and clay, rain running down his face, laughing like crazy about what pitch he was going to throw. Change up? Curve ball? Knuckleball? He only has one pitch. He's 9. He has "please let it be in the strike zone."
And I watched him later hit a small single into the wet grass and run around the bases trying to stretch it into an in the park home run while the kids sloshed around trying to get it and overthrew at every base. He slid into home, knocking into his friend while all the infielders piled on. OUT!!
Serious? Well, he seriously had a lot of fun.
