A crummy camera-phone picture (again!). One of these days I will remember to take pictures. The guys played hard and improved so much but they came away from the tournament 0-4. Still, they are playing better than they have ever played and are looking forward to the Fall Ball season.
So are we! Nice cool afternoons--sun shining, breeze blowing, kids having fun and playing ball. There's nothing like a crisp, fall day at the fields.

C had a tough day. He caught for three innings after getting some extra help from two of his favorite catching coaches. Our coach has two fantastic sons--both ball players. One is in HS and the other is a bit older. C really looks up to these guys and listens to everything they teach him. (One is a pitcher and the other is a catcher so they are great guys to work with!) They had him really working behind the plate.
He did well behind the plate--a couple of good throws to second and a play at the plate--but the other team just outplayed and outran us. He also took a bat to the forearm in the third that stung pretty bad. Catchers gotta be tough and sometimes little guys who have played three games in two days are just a bit tired to be tough. He hung in there though, bruises and all.
He put the bat on the ball all three at-bats but was thrown out each time. Very frustrating.
The poor guys got 10 run ruled in the fifth and took it hard. Lots more games to make up for it though and they are all eager to get back out there.
