We had company over tonight...real company. And there was wine and pizza and chit chat. And some more wine.
C had a game today against his best buddy's team so we invited his family over. The boys played great and so did the grownups.
Now I have sleepy wine head and am almost--but not quite--too tired to realize that the paper fairy has not yet visited. I am thinking that I should leave the abstract under my pillow tonight and hope for the best.
Overall, I am counting today in the "good day" column. I miss my J (he spent the weekend with Grandma) but I know he's having fun as well.

C pitched again today. Much better results. He actually struck out 4! He even stayed friends with his best buddy after thwacking him with a pitch early in the game.
They still lost--they seem destined to lose this season--but they played hard and are getting better and had a great time playing.
C has turned into quite a catcher. One of the other teams players walked home from 3rd thinking that the bases were loaded and a walk drove in a run. Turns out that wasn't the case and he had to get back to third. So their player just walked...slowly....back. C took one look and ran up the line tagging him just as he started to run realizing he was in trouble. He was so proud of his inning ending play.
The best part for us is that no one told him. He just knew. He just popped up and ran down the line. He is really enjoying it and staying in the game this year.
That and the giant grin as he trotted back to the dugout.
I had to coach today too. Have no fear--no children were wounded or traumatized during my stint as coach. Then again, they won't try and eat cheese fries in the dugout again either ;)
