it was a brilliant and beautiful plan. i would forego work this weekend and spend some fun and necessary time with my family. i would get all my work done monday-wednesday.
saturday--we went to a friend's son's bar mitzvah which was a great day and much fun. c kept telling me that it was officially the "best party ever!" so it must have been good. i had to explain to them the many and varied reasons why they will not be having such a party. lol. c had to leave in the middle for little league try-outs (where he completely rocked and is now a much coveted draft pick!!) but he returned in time for dancing and merry making. afterwards we took them to a lazer tag birthday party where the dads got to play along and had, i imagine, twice as much fun as the kids! i think sparky is going to want a lazer tag party when he turns 40. lol.
sunday? snow, snow and more snow. over a foot of snow! lots of soggy clothes strewn about the house. many mugs of hot chocolate (mine with a bit of schnapps!) and by the end of the day...tired, worn out kids.
but today? they are home. with me. and this is not going to prove to be the uber-productive day that i needed to make up for the weekend of sloth. damn. so it looks as if i will bundle everyone up and lock them encourage them outside for a little tubing.
and even in all this snow there is a glimmer of spring. less than two days until pitchers and catchers report and opening day tickets go on sale a week from saturday. let's go mets!
