"to begin my life with the beginning of my life..." that's how j is starting his presentation as dickens tomorrow...in costume. he was actually having fun writing the story of dickens as presented by...well, dickens. you get the idea. he really wants to read some of the novels but they are still a little daunting. fair enough. i know adults who can't get through dickens.

today was a two movie day--chicken little and charlie and the chocolate factory. i will take chocolate please.

actually, chicken little was better than i anticipated. there were some cute bits and quirky characters. i just felt let down by the story. would it kill them to have a real story and not just soundbites and slapstick? it's fun. the kids loved it. as c would say, "it's a renter not a buyer."

but i greedily unwrapped my special edition copy of charlie and the chocolate factory. no, i didn't win a golden ticket. but i love that movie a little bit more every time i see it.
