i saw it! i saw it!


first of all, i went in knowing that this was not a remake of my beloved movie. so i reread the book before we went. i wanted a real sense of the book to be fresh and not just the movie.


ok...so....i loved it. i loved the buckets' house. i loved the factory. i cried...cried...when charlie found his ticket. (shut up!)
yes, willy wonka himself was much different then the character created by gene wilder. this movie is different. i have such a soft spot for the original that i did miss the oompa loompas of the past...but this movie stands on its own with its quirky interpretation that does run closer to that of the novel.


i need to see it again. i need to see it when i am not just so excited to be there that i feel a bit like charlie bucket.


will you like it? not if you are looking only for the original. but if you love the story, the idea of willy wonka, then you will love it.
