soup is done...house is clean...

now all i have to do is grab a shower and get out of my spiffy reindeer jammies and wrap a few last things.

woohoo! i might even get to enjoy this christmas thing yet!

actually, christmas eve is always fun at my house. my mom and sister come down and we open a few presents (the ones to the boys from grandma) and we eat and laugh and read the night before christmas and the grinch and inevitably my mom comes up with some scheme to make us sing a christmas carol as a game which always backfires leaving my sister and i rolling on the floor laughing.

then we sneak the kids off to sleep and open stockings from my mom. yes, i know how old i am , but my mom still makes me one and it is too hard to explain to the kids why i have two on christmas morning! so we have a good time with odd little presents that make everyone laugh until we are afraid we will wake the kids.

then i will sneak downstairs while hubby, who has long ago fallen asleep, snoozes and bring up all the goodies and sit for a second in the quiet with just a few candles and the lights from the tree, a glass of wine and some music.

i will be the first one up in the morning. i wake the kids. see, i think this is fair. i can't sleep and all year, they wake me when i would be able to sleep. so i pounce on their little beds (if they aren't already in mine at this point!) and yell,"it's christmas!! it's christmas!!"

spiced apple pancakes with cider sauce, stockings, probably a new movie or two ;)

then.......the inlaws.....

hmmm.....probably more than y'all needed to know huh? lol.
