so the oldest (9) is questioning, testing, snooping. this will be the last year for the big guy in the red suit. the sad part is that he is trying to take his brother down with him.
conversation heard outside of their room (and yes i eavesdropped, i am a mom!):
J: you have to ask santa for a secret extra thing in your letter or when you talk to him and then not tell mom and dad.
C: but i already asked santa for somthing
J: yeah, but mom and dad wouldn't let you get two things so if you get it you will know.
C: ohhhhhh
J: what else do you want? don't tell mom!
C: i want one of those rewinder stunt cars like on nickelodeon
ok, so i hear all of this and decide that i will take care of it. ha! so there! and then i go online to find one. it's like "turbo man." there isn't one of these anywhere to be found. thanks nickelodeon for running these commercials every ten seconds for a car that you can't buy!!
then...as carpal tunnel is setting in from online shopping and i am about to give up and destroy my poor kid's childhood beliefs....aha! rewinder. one left. and yes, i had to pay extra for the "parents who didn't plan ahead" shipping charge. but it is on its way.
i've found turbo man! lolololol
off to bring in our snow covered tree and yell at the kids...decorate it all by myself after the first five minutesas a fun family event... .
hot chocolate anyone?
Wow, I was nowhere near as credulous. I think I was six when I figured it out. Mom cried. I shrugged and went on with life.:)
YEAH! For you! Great mommy tactic!
