ok. i finished catcher in the rye. well, it's done. that's an accomplishment.
1 - i am crazier than that
2 - pages and pages of rambling teenage angst. so?
3 - did anyone like this book?
i read this because it is on my list of "things i should have read but haven't gotten around to." funny thing is, i haven't met anyone who liked this one.
oh well, off to something better. poisonwood bible and then princess bride.
what's anyone else reading this summer?
I loved Catcher in the Rye. Not sure what is it 'bout the book though.
I'm surprised that you haven't found anyone who liked it. Most people I know who've read it felt the same way as I do. How odd :)
As for me, I made a list of stuff I am planning on reading this summer here. Just finished Order of the Phoenix and now currently working on The Dante Club.
I hope you allowed HTML on comments :)
doh! guess not :)
Kevin is almost done with Moneyball - you can read it when he's done. And I have that horrible mystery that Seaver co-authored that I want you to read just so I can rip it apart with someone knowledgeable - LOL. And the Sandy Koufax biography is a good read if you want to borrow it.
I'm currently reading Girls Night Out, which is kind of trashy summer fare. I figure I'll give it to Ellen before her next tour, and she can give it to people in the group when she's done with it. If you wish to peruse it first, you may. When I'm done with this, I'm moving on to Stranger in a Strange Land - I remember liking it as a teenager, even though I'm not into Sci Fi, and I'd like to read it again.
It's still on my list to read.
Some how it keeps being knocked to the end of the list.
I think I have to read the new Harry Potter next, I am such a dork!
Oh, and by the way I loved The Shipping News!
