took the boys to see league of extraordinary gentlemen. review? hmm....not bad, exciting fight scenes, interesting sets, decent special effects, but probably a rental unless you are really looking forward to it or need a sean connery fix. but i love anything in that time period. and men with an accent?...well, 'nuff said!
then the boys wanted to go to a bookstore. never have to twist my arm! they each got a book (star wars and finding nemo) and i got a stack of "on sale summer reading" books from the summer sale table. books for five dollars? i can't walk away from that.
so the stack to bring camping: breakfast at tiffany's and other short stories - truman capote, lady chatterly's lover - d.h. lawrence, the catcher in the rye - j.d. salinger (and yes i am a lit major and i haven't ever read this), the poisonwood bible - barbara kingsolver, the princess bride - william goldman, and the awakening and other short stories - kate chopin. i love camping. a book a day is a wonderful thing. reading by the campfire while listening the the static filled broadcast of the mets announcers from when i was a kid. life is good.
good news on the discussion board front. looks like it is doable, just need to work out a few bugs.
off to snuggle up with a good book, or six.
