summer reading

wow...time to consider what i want to read. ah....summer.

as soon as i finish this paper i am free to roam the pages of any text that tickles my fancy. and my fancy could use a little tickling!

so here's the list (i know there are probably going to be some "palette cleansing" brainless fun reads added along the way...but this is the plan):

piers plowman - langland (i am still searching for a reliable critical edition not in translation)
king lear - bill and i have a hot date this summer. reading this one with lara
beyond the pleasure principle - freud (recommended that i should read this by someone whom i trust implicitly)
canterbury tales - want to re-read some of the tales for paper ideas for next years conference. riverside chaucer might just be one of my desert island books. love love love this. inspired again after kzoo.

ok...so that is the fun but "should read" list and there is nothing on there that i won't enjoy....but now i need some mindless nonsense to cleanse the palette in between. suggestions anyone?

i am reading posession: a romance by A S Byatt right now. loving it so far and feeling like it isn't mindless drivel but still enough of a romantic romp as to be escape. i will let you know if i am still loving it at the end.

Kevin's self-published mystery will be out this summer :) I can loan you "No Way to Treat a First Lady" - that was a quick read. Oh, and for a truly horrible mystery, I can loan you "Beanball" - Tom Seaver co-srote it, and if you read it I can tear it apart with someone
