Our Burger King re-opened. I suppose in a normal person's life that isn't cause for celebration, but in this house we should have had a ticker tape parade! I have two kids, little patience, and less time. Chicken nuggets are a main staple.
Now in an effort to be more healthy, Burger King is offering the Chicken Whopper (and Whopper Junior). Not that I am fooled. But I can at least reason with myself that it must be better for me....it's chicken, right? Anyway, on the placemats, supposedly to entice you into buying this meal, are pictures of dancing cartoon chickens!!! Umm. Are they unaware of their impending doom? Is this supposed to make me order the chicken? Oh, and as a bonus, they are wearing cowboy boots. So let me see if I get this. The cowboy chickens....after rounding up the cows for burgers...are dancing off to the poultry farm and jumping merrily into BK bags??? Maybe it's me. But the idea of chickens doing the electric slide in tacky K-Mart cowboy boots makes me lose my appetite. Maybe it's a diet trick?
But two good things today: The above mentioned Burger King has thoughtfully decorated in Mets colors. A nice way to celebrate Spring Training I thought.
And...my new CDs came today. My very own Norah Jones (thanks to Kazaa I had most of these, but now I have my own copy) an import from The Corrs, and the new Dixie Chicks CD. (I still want to call them albums!) Dixie Chicks are the end of my sentence " I don't like country except for....." I am happily loading them into LYRA.
i think it is good!
