well, hubby was trying to help. of course, usually when stories start with "he was trying to help" you know they aren't going to end well. so hubby decides that the state of emergency doesn't apply to him and he is going to the store. in his defense he was going to get something for my munchkin who hasn't been feeling well. i get a phone call. collect. hmmm. isn't that why we got cell phones? nope. left his home! anyway, his truck broke down. so now i have to clean off the car (check out the pics in the last entry to see what fun that was) and go get him.
driving like a ninety year old, steering wheel gripping, seat pulled all the way up, cringing, terrified loon, i take off to get him leaving the boys home after threatening them not to answer doors or phones (their first time alone!)
it occurs to me that if i break down the boys aren't going to answer the phone for me to call. possibly not the best plan. sigh.
i successfully navigated through unplowed parking lots and avoided the yahoos in suvs and we are home safe and sound. not leaving this house again for a very long time.
