Yup, that was my first day back. Not in that order of course. First of all let me say that this schedule was a very bad mistake so later in the semester when they cart me away there will be no question as to why. (Ok, there could be numerous reasons, but let's just keep this one in mind!)
Rainman. I actually have Rainman as a math professor. One full hour of muttering and the man never looked up from his feet. Just shuffled, rocked, paced and muttered about sets and subsets. His hair hasn't had an encounter with a brush since the mid-seventies and he will not look anyone in the eyes.
Move from there to French class where I meet my professor Laurence Somethingfrench. Turns out Laurence is a woman...from France. And this woman has some strange idea that we should actually speak French! Something that had completely escaped last semester's professor. This could mean work. I may have to get all snarky and .....French! Especially since the first question she asked everyone was our age!
Move from here to the class I have been waiting anxiously for - my gift to myself this semester - History of Music Theater. Yay! One of my all-time favorite professors teaching one of my favorite obsessions. The class is required to see Chicago!! He also announced that, instead of choosing a traditional musical to study in depth at the end of the semester, we will be analyzing Buffy the Musical. Looks like it's sink or swim time. Need to learn to love Buffy. (Luckily I think I have an in here!)
Lit History was great, as always, and then - before I turned into Quasimodo from carrying 9845739354 lbs of books it was off to band. My "not really a class" class. We have a mandolin player this semester. Curious. Not your typical college wind band instrument. Then again, Rider is not your typical college wind band.
So it was a fun but tiring day and again I am left questioning my sanity for going back to school.
Internet withdrawal aside, it was good to get back into the swing of things.
