I am done! I still feel like I have a deadline to meet and there are a million little assignments hanging over my head, but this semester has wound down to an end. I finished up full-time for the first time in 14 years and lived to tell about it.
In the midst of all the papers and craziness I managed to find a great new friend - the kind that knows you are crazy and comes along for the ride. The kind of friend who thinks a cheese canoe is the funniest thing in the world and doesn't rush over to the greeting card section to get away when you are laughing loud enough to make even the strange people stare.
Christmas party at rehearsal last night. My extended family. There seems to be a push to move the group forward into more challenging music. I could not be happier. Playing music that keeps you leaned forward on the edge of your seat is like a drug...and when it is over you find yourself begging them for just a wee bit more (assuring yourself the whole time you could stop if you really wanted to).
So...now the winter break looms ahead. Right now it is still too early for me to feel the nagging fear that my brain is turning to jello from lack of use. I am still enjoying the season a bit.
wait, the cheese canoe ISN'T the funniest thing in the world?
