Science Fair by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson

Science Fair is the latest YA book written by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson. It's the story of Toby, a middle school student who aspires to win the school's science fair despite the fact that the school's rich kids have parents with the means and the lack of ethics to make sure that their kids win at all costs. But this tale is far more complex than middle school competition - it involves foreign terrorists, strange scientists, a levitating frog, and the Oscar Meyer Weinermobile.

Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson are entertaining writers in their own rights, but as a collaborative entity they are even stronger. Science Fair is elaborate, age-appropriate, and entertaining. This is a great book for youngsters who need a break from the normal school-assigned fare, as well as for adults who are looking for a well-crafted and humorous story.
