RIP Challenge 07

I am so glad that Carl is running the RIP Fall Reading Challenge again this year. I had so much fun curling up with the dark and gothic reads from last year's challenge that I can't wait to do it again. And this is the challenge that spurred Overdue Books on to create the From the Stacks Challenge from last Fall. (And yes, that will return shortly so get those TBR piles ready!)

Having just finished Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell: A Novel, I can't use it as one of my "Obese Book Peril" books. I will have to look about to find another option.

But here's my list as it stands so far. This means that if one book starts me off on wild tangents, I may just follow along for the ride:

New Moon (Twilight, Book 2) - Stephanie Meyer
Eclipse (Twilight, Book 3) - Stephanie Meyer
The Rest Falls Away: The Gardella Vampire Chronicles (Signet Eclipse) - Colleen Gleason (my very own signed copy!)
The Mysteries of Udolpho (Oxford World's Classics) - Ann Radcliffe
The Historian - Elizabeth Kostova

and on Carl's hearty recommendation:
Season of the Witch - Natasha Mostert

Not a bad list. I may also include a reread of Northanger Abbey (Modern Library Classics) if time allows.

And if I can find a good list of short stories I might participate in the Short Story Sunday part of the challenge and include the boys. A few good scary stories by the fire sound like a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Thanks again, Carl, for running this. Great fun!
